Syllabus

Name of Subject Overview of Coursework
Research Proposal Students are required to prepare a plan outlining the background, meaning, research method, research plan, and expected accomplishment for the theme of their research, carried out in the doctoral program under the guidance of an educator and a vice-educator. If the student’s basic research capability is evaluated as being poor before the research proposal is completed, the student may be expected to attend a lecture of the master’s program.
Seminar under Industry-University Collaboration I, II, III Students are expected to make a presentation of the research in the presence of industrial researchers, universities, and incorporated administrative agencies with an aim to acquire awareness of university-industry relations and the capability to make an effective presentation.
Strategic Technology I, II, III Lectures are presented on the basic concepts of cost for commercialization of products, the basis of financial statements, and risk management, using case studies showing that scientific technology is linked to products and industries. Accordingly, students will acquire knowledge regarding the relationship between scientific technology and society/industry.
Science and Technology Seminar I, II, III Students will attend a seminar conducted by another laboratory in a field different from that of one’s laboratory, during the term. They are also expected to cultivate communication capabilities with researchers in different fields through the introduction of one’s research in this seminar.
International Internship I, II, III Students will gain exposure to international standard concepts and global research by coming into contact with cutting-edge research through internships at domestic and overseas affiliate companies, training and auditing of lectures at leading overseas universities, and tutorial attendance at international conferences.
Special Lectures on Nano-Science and Nano-Technology I-VI Students will attend the “Summer Lecture in 2012” organized by Nano-Electronics Human Resource Development Program. This is an intensive series of lectures in the nano-science and nano-technology fields provided in the style employed by nanotech hub universities in the US and European countries.
Research in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology I Cutting-edge instruction is provided to graduate students in the doctoral program of the first year, on the theme of research in the nano-science and nano-technology field in order to help them cultivate their capability for engaging in advanced nano-science and nano-technology researches.
Research in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology II Cutting-edge instruction is provided to graduate students in the doctoral program of the second year, on the theme of research in the nano-science and nano-technology field in order to help them cultivate their capability for engaging in advanced nano-science and nano-technology researches.
Research in Nano-Science and Nano-Technology III Cutting-edge instruction is provided to graduate students in the doctoral program of the third year, on the theme of research in the nano-science and nano-technology field in order to help them cultivate their capability for engaging in advanced nano-science and nano-technology researches.
